Waadag Commons is the sixth and final piece of the larger Seward Commons project – a redevelopment of an industrial area adjacent to the Franklin Avenue lightrail station.
Meeting Community Needs
A partnership between Redesign and Noor Companies – an East African woman-owned company – Wadaag Commons is designed with the needs of large, East African immigrant families in mind.
Wadaag Commons will consist of 39 affordable rental apartments and townhomes for families earning 60% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI). Two-story townhomes will be geared towards intergenerational households and large families with kids, providing many recent immigrants with homes designed to meet their needs.
The goal of this project is to develop affordable housing at Seward Commons that supports large families, families transitioning out of homelessness, and families needing support services.
Stay In The Loop
Construction has just begun on this project. We'll keep you posted on the progress as we go! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn for progress photos and more.
